Mangoes are the end of me
I’d like to correct myself: I’m allergic to mango oil - that is the oil found on the skin of mangos. So I’m usually pretty good with mango smoothies or dried mangos, it’s the raw mango that I need to be super careful around.
In any case, it’s a long regiment of intense hydrocortisone, benadryl, and any other random medicine I can find that has anti-allergy...
I’m allergic to mangos. That’s like saying Willy Wonka is allergic to chocolate. It is the worst.
For some reasons that I don’t understand, my parents love to interrupt fascinating TV interviews by saying something about the subject. Which of course causes me to lose focus and not hear anything the interviewee says. I don’t know why they think this wouldn’t frustrate me.

My New Favorite Game Show
There’s a show on Syfy called Total Blackout, where contestants have to identify things in the dark. Losers get eliminated by contestants jumping on their respective and the loser will literally drop out of the game.
I cracked up when they had to smell the object and one of them was a person’s butt.
Easily one of the most enjoyable game shows to watch.

Consuela
Michael and I went all gung-ho on the room we’re moving into for the summer. The previous tenants weren’t particularly keen on cleanliness and hygiene, so Michael and I had quite a lot on our hands to fix up for the summer.
You know how there’s a difference between messy and dirty? Well I can be messy sometimes, and that means there will be occasions where my clothes are...

Start of the Summer
Highlights of the past few weeks:
Finished my last studio final ever for the rest of my life
Packed up my stuff for the summer and shoved everything into a Uhaul to move into the fraternity. Look at my awesome driving skills.
Ate my last dinner on campus by foraging for free food left in the lounges. Honey roasted nuts with soy chicken and dumplings. Not bad eh?

The Human Guinea Pig
So I’m not making much money as an intern this summer. Below average minimum wage in fact…and yet I really want to save up some money to be able to travel abroad at the end of my senior year.
To that end, I will turn to a last resort like many a strapped-for-cash college student before me — I’ll become a human guinea pig.
Yes you heard me. Those silly college kids that...

Finals Week and the End of School
The last few weeks were a rush to finish up all the projects for my class and figure out apartment housing for the summer. Obviously apartment problems fell through…although on the plus side I’m saving a bunch of money.
All my projects were lined up one after the other, but now I’m done! I think my architecture studio final was the most gratifying - gratifying in the sense that...

Please tell me you know how to cook...
Quick study break time.
I love cooking. I’ll just put it out there. I like watching the food channel when I’m at home and I will usually try a new dish each time I cook. In the past couple of years I’ve been trying to branch out into Asian cuisine and try my hand at some authentic Taiwanese dishes. But I can also cook most things without too much trouble.
When I was younger I...

Currently watching the NBC show Awake right now. It’s about a detective who can’t tell if he’s awake or asleep. In one day, his son is still alive from the car crash. In the next, it’s his wife that’s alive instead. And has to cope with it.
Kinda how I feel when I pull all-nighters like right now.
Except without the hot wife and the teenaged boy.
Or the detective...

MIT Police Got Your Back Son
My roommate is spending the summer abroad in Singapore through an MIT study abroad program. I’m a bit jealous to be honest.
He gets sent an MIT bureaucratic ”don’t sue MIT” kind of form to sign and notices this:
So apparently, if you’re overseas and have an emergency, MIT Police is there to have your back.
Because of course that’s the first thing you would...

Ron Paul is a Boss
Ron Paul has been getting the majority of delegates in several states, such as Iowa, Alaska, and others. Most recently:
In Maine, he won 21 out of 24 delegates against MItt Romney.
In Nevada, he recently won 25 of 28 seats.
I am very impressed.

The apartment that will never be
Ug.
I just spent the last months intensively searching for a 3 bedroom apartment for summer. Tons of hits and misses, almosts, and nearly gottens. It was going to be epically legendary with two friends and one of their girlfriends.
We finally found a nice cozy apartment in Boston, a 30 second walk away from the grocery store, and excellently located on the first floor. Cute kitchen with large...

I don’t understand it, but it’s adorable. I want one of them to be my little sister.
It’s like fruit of the loom guys, except they’re cute little girls in tutus. With swag.

I think my architecture professor has such low expectations for my class now. Whenever we present something remotely new, he goes into shock. I should probably feel insulted. Oh well.

Prospective Students are Running Around
…while I hide in my room in sweats and a hoodie preparing for the all-nighter ahead of me.
Thanks, MIT, for giving every student so much work to ensure we won’t be able interact with the freshmen and warn them about the dangers of going to school here.
Genius.

Mmm...Krispy Kreme
I forgot to mention over Spring Break…I got this crazy idea to drive to Krispy Kreme and get some delicious donuts.
Only problem? There are no Krispy Kremes in Massachusetts. Solution? Road trip to Connecticut.
And it was awesome. I’m actually surprised I convinced four friends to drag their lazy butts off campus to go with me.
As you can see…I was a bit too excited for the...

Victor Kim = $$$
Hot damn! What a busy week. Last night was the MIT Asian American Association annual Grains of Rice banquet.
In short? We held our yearly asian shindig with food and asian performers. Yay us.
This year we paid an exorbitant amount of money to fly Victor Kim, youtube star extraordinare to perform as our guest at Grains of Rice. (video of him)
He sang and performed and serenaded his way into...

I am still jobless. Just give me a job and I will babysit your children for you, take your clothes to the dry cleaners, cook you dinners, and anything else that may be too explicit to say on the internet. Call me consuela, call me your servant, make me your waterboy FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I will do anything as long as I get a job. I am willing to do ANYTHING.

How to Get through Airport Security like a Boss
I have this beef about going through airport security. Namely with those silly body scanners - I always ask for a patdown instead. They can touch, but not see.
But more importantly is my annoyance with the entire process of airport security itself: taking shoes off, emptying your pockets, throwing away your tasty drinks, etc. Coming home on the plane this morning, it dawned on me...

I got a Twitter
Urgh. I finally caved in. After saying for the longest time I was never going to get a Twitter…I did it.
